The tour is arranged so that travelling and light for photography are under optimal conditions !
The White Desert is one of the worth visiting places in Egypt that locates about 500km southwest away from Cairo in the New Valley Governorate. It is called in that name due to the white color of the chalk rock formations created by the erosion in a graceful manner. This area is distinguished by its tranquility and serenity that makes it one of the most preferable destination for those who love spectacular desert landscapes. We also will show you wide territories of sand dunes with fantastic landscapes. You deeply will admire that desert!
In this absolutely unique & fantastic landscape we take you through one of the most diverse deserts of the world!
During the week enjoy pleasantries like, large breakfast buffets, the best of meals which are superbly cooked, high quality equipment, competent tour guides with excellent local knowledge and the Best Bedouin Team of The White Desert!
After only a 3 1/2 hour flight from Zurich we land in Cairo !
You can also book only the landarrangement.
We overnight in a very good 4* Hotel directly on The Nile with a view of the river !
A good evening meal, good lodging and already early the next morning we set off into the Desert.
A true Desert trip!
On the Tour we purposely sleep not in distant hotels but in the Oasis Hotels which are away from the roads. They are dusty and sandy ......but therefore, no long and strenuous distance to the Photograghy spots !
In this way we have a true Desert touring trip, not a Hotel tour with excursions into the Desert....
So, we sleep directly in the desert, enjoy the fresh air of Nature, the clean sand and the incredible stillness and silence!
We then purposely avoid the road dirt and civilization's garbage, because, unfortunately most of the Oasis inhabitants dump their rubbish on the roads...
We sleep at our locations and are ready for the best of light conditions.
Our Desert equipment contains all that is necessary to make our stay in the desert very comfortable.
We even have a tent & shower with us !
Whoever would like to can sleep in a tent.
We use a three-man tent only for two persons to sleep in!
For single room bookings we naturally have a tent at their disposal !
We recommend sleeping outside under the stars.
Sleeping on site at location...... we make possible what others talk about.

The trip is not advertised as a Photo-workshop nevertheless on request, strategies, tips & tricks for successful Desert & Landscape photography are passed on.

Culture in Cairo
You can enjoy 3 Days of Culture in Cairo before setting off into the Desert. You will see the most important sights worth visiting and your guide will be an English speaking Egyptian very knowledgeable of his culture.
Climate
Egypt is a land of Desert. The temperatures are generally very well toleratied because the humidity is extremely low.
In Egypt from the end of December to the begging of February in can be cool in the mornings. However at dawn the rising sun brings warmth and a clear air.
Health
Our meals are cooked with mineral water and are very tasty.
Immunization is not a pre-requisite.
However we recommend Tetanus and Polio vaccination and for frequent travellers Hepatitis also.
Malaria prophylaxis is NOT necessary!
We take with us a well supllied travellers first-aid kit which is comprehensive.
Our exploration and photography spots are easily accessible. You do not require any special training to reach them.
Hiking or light Trekking shoes with a good sole are recommended.

Battery charging advice
If you wish to take digital photos or video on the trip : charging batteries whilst travelling is no problem.
We have in each vehicle a 12v/110-220v inverter which takes a 2 pin round plug.. Take with you your normal mains charger and be sure to have an adapter if your mains plug has 3 pins to change it a 2 pin plug.
